CP First-Year Reader

In 2020, my Curatorial Practice MFA (CP) co-director José Ruiz and I created the Curatorial Practice First-Year Reader—a group of texts designed to introduce our students to Baltimore, the art of curating, approaches to collaboration, social justice through art, and issues of representation and equity. We selected these readings together; I wrote all of the introductory texts and essay summaries, and José spearheaded design and production.

This reader provides baseline context for students arriving to our program from widely divergent experiences and practices—and brings together a common store of texts that CP instructors can use in their courses.
