Over the past thirty years, Jeffry Cudlin has been a member of more than a dozen gigging rock, post-punk, and experimental bands. He has played venues in New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Richmond, and points in-between—opening for bands including Už Jsme Doma, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, and Swervedriver's Adam Franklin. As a drummer or bassist, Cudlin has backed musicians associated with SST, Relapse, Jagjaguwar, and Dischord. In the late '90s and early '00s, he recorded several small-label indie albums in now-defunct DC-area studios like Inner Ear with Don Zientara and Cue Studios with Harry Evans. Though a self-taught, unassuming player, Cudlin knows how to drive bands, solve problems, and create a shared sense of time.
Cudlin's latest project is the instrumental post-rock band Wraki—for which he writes the music, plays all of the instruments, and records in his home studio. His debut EP, Regret Everything, was released in June of 2022; the track Dorsa Brevia was recently selected for inclusion on the Open Language VII compilation released by Bozeman, Montana label A Thousand Arms.
